Mufti Syed Muhammad Umair Kazmi Qasmi is an Islamic scholar, researcher, educator, and educational administrator committed to advancing contemporary Islamic education.
He memorised the Holy Qur'an at Madrasatul Abrar, Campierganj (Gorakhpur) and completed the 'Alimiyyah programme at Darul Uloom Waqf, Deoband. He later specialised in Islamic Jurisprudence (Takhassus fi al-Ifta') at Al-Ma'had al-'Ali al-Islami, Hyderabad. He also earned an M.A. in Arabic from Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad, along with formal training in Educational Management.
With over eight years of experience in Islamic education and institutional administration, he currently serves as the Administrator (Nazim) of Bab-ul-Uloom, Gorakhpur.
He studied under renowned scholars, including Hazrat Mawlana Muhammad Salim Qasmi (hifzahullah), Hazrat Mawlana Aslam Qasmi (hifzahullah), and Hazrat Mawlana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani (adama barakatuhum).
His research interests include Islamic jurisprudence, contemporary Islamic thought, and Islamic intellectual history. He has authored research on The Concept of Freedom and Individual Rights in Islam and The Islamic System of Inheritance, and is currently working on the history of Gorakhpur alongside the scholarly editing of Ham─ü'il al-Marj─ün wa al-Zahr fi Fad─ü'il al-Qur'─ün wa al-Suwar by Hazrat Mufti Syed Abdul Majeed Kothiyawi (rahimahullah).
Beyond academia, he actively leads educational workshops, Qur'anic lectures, curriculum development projects, institutional management programmes, and initiatives promoting digital Islamic education.
